Good rubbers are an investment. A few minutes of care after every session keeps their grip longer and keeps your bat playing like new.
After every session
Clean
Dust and sweat take the grip out of your rubber. Spray a little rubber cleaner on the rubber and wipe it clean with a soft sponge.
Protective film
After cleaning, put a protective film on your inverted rubbers. It keeps dust and sunlight out and the top sheet fresh.
Case
Keep your bat in a cover or case. That way the edges stay undamaged and the rubber does not dry out.
Gluing rubbers
In competition, only glue without solvents may be used to attach rubbers to your blade: VOC-free, water-based glue. Here is how:
- Carefully remove old glue from your blade. The wood must be clean and dry.
- Apply a thin, even layer of glue to the sponge of the rubber and to the blade.
- Let both layers dry until the glue is completely transparent.
- Lay the rubber on the blade starting from the handle and roll it on without air bubbles.
- Trim the rubber along the edge of the blade with a sharp knife or scissors.
Rather not do it yourself? Choose a blade and rubbers in our bat builder. For €10 extra we glue and check your bat before shipping.
Edge tape
Edge tape goes around the edge of your bat. It protects blade and rubber when you hit the table and keeps the edge of the rubber in place.
Storage
Do not leave your bat in the sun or in a hot car. Heat and sunlight age rubber faster and can loosen the glue.
